Proofreading

Correcting a text to make it error-free, focussing primarily on spelling, punctuation, and grammar. We make sure your documents are thoroughly proofed.

Editing

Editing provides an extra layer that may have a huge importance: reviewing syntax and meaning, reformulating sentences, finetuning style and fluency of a text so that the meaning is comprehensible.

Rewriting

If you feel that your text is not written in a professional way, we can help. Our editors and writers read your work, analyse the style, grammar and vocabulary and rewrite as much as needed. A proper discussion with you will be appropriate to clarify the need and agree on a solution.

Transcription of audio files

Some political or economic meetings require the transcription of speeches after the sessions. We are happy to take care of this too.

Your translation is ready and we have done the swearing by adding our stamp, date and signature. This is a sworn translation. In some cases, for a private or public document for administrative use in a foreign country, a second step is required.

Legalisation by the Hague Apostille

"Apostille de la Haye". Some countries request further authentications in order to accepted a document. Over a hundred countries signed the Hague Apostille Convention of 5 October 1961 to simplify the legalisation procedure. We can arrange for an apostille stamp to be affixed to your translation in order to certify the veracity of the translator’s signature on public documents. Count 2 days for this service.

Legalisation by a notary, called notarisation

Notarisation is another form of legalisation that might be asked for by foreign administrations. Should you require this service, our notary will stamp our sworn translation, stating the date and mention that the translator’s signature is authentic. Both procedures serving the same purpose, it is up to you to check with your client or the receiving office or administration what kind of legalisation is preferred. We deliver the sworn translation with the Hague Apostille or the notary’s mention and signature, together with the source text. Should you wish to have the latter stamped and signed, we also provide this service.

While translation concerns the written word, interpretation is carried out orally.

We offer simultaneous and consecutive interpretation services tailored to your needs.

We usually work with the same teams of interpreters we know well and in whom we place our trust.

Simultaneous or conference interpreting

For international and national conferences, local meetings, seminars, townhall meetings etc. Depending on the length of the speeches, simultaneous interpreters often work in teams and appreciate receiving some preparation material.

Consecutive interpreting

For interpreting in business meetings, trainings, visits and coaching sessions. The consecutive interpreter speaks aloud once the interlocutor has said a few sentences and stops speaking.

Remote simultaneous interpreting

During lookdown, a new form of simultaneous interpretation emerged: Remote interpretation. New software programmes and platforms allow us to work remotely, from home or our office in real time. The audience is connected by tele or video conference.

Whispered interpreting

The interpreter whispers the speech into the client’s ear. This is used for instance during a marriage celebration, at the commune, when one of the future spouses doesn’t know the official language.

Court interpreting

For court sessions at the District Court, Labour Court, Appeal Court, Juvenile Court, Justice of the peace etc.

Police interpreting

Used for interrogations, prison visits, house searches, etc.

At Boutique Translation, we are happy to boast a specialised sworn translation department offering sworn, certified, legalised and notarised translation for almost all language pairs. Our translations are meant for official use in Luxembourg and abroad.

Swearing

We translate and swear official and legal documents such as:

  • birth, marriage, divorce, death, no impediment certificates,
  • criminal records, police clearance certificates, NPCC, ACRO driving licenses, immigration documents,
  • proof of identity such as passports or ID cards,
  • bank statements, affidavits, insurance claims, court documents,

Certification

“Certified true translation” or “Certified true translation of the original document affixed” By adding this type of mention, the translator certifies that the translation delivered is true and faithful according to their best knowledge. This service is available in all languages. Please see here a few examples of documents requiring a sworn translation.

Stamp "Certified true translation"

A stamp is affixed to your document, followed by the sworn translator’s signature.

We can also provide wax seals and bind both the original and the translated text together.

The swearing was done before the Appeal Court of and in Luxembourg and is valid worldwide.
